Capital City Roofing frequently asked questions about roof repairs
REFERENCE·FAQ
General · 01

The five questions we hear most.

Do you offer free inspections?

Yes. We provide a 27-point inspection covering roof, gutters, siding, fascia, soffit, attic, foundation, and driveway. You get a detailed photo report with findings and recommendations, and the report is yours whether you hire us or not. No cost, no obligation, no pressure.

How long does a roof replacement take?

Most residential roof replacements are completed in a single day. Larger or more complex projects may take 2–3 days. We clean up thoroughly at the end of each day.

Do you help with insurance claims?

Yes. We have a dedicated team of insurance specialists who will advocate for you, meet with your adjuster, and ensure your claim covers all necessary damages.

What warranties do you offer?

As a GAF Master Elite contractor, fewer than 1 percent of roofers nationally hold this certification, so we can offer the Golden Pledge Limited Warranty: 50 years on the system, 25 years on workmanship. This is a warranty backed by a company built to last, not one that vanishes when the contractor does.

Are you licensed and insured?

Yes. We hold GAF Master Elite, CertainTeed ShingleMaster Premier, and GenFlex Commercial certifications. In a state where you do not need a license or certification to put a roof on someone's home, fewer than 5 percent of roofers carry any manufacturer certification. We are in the top 1 percent.

Residential Roofing questions.

How much does a new roof cost in Atlanta?
The cost of a new residential roof in Atlanta typically ranges from $8,000 to $25,000 depending on the size of your home, the roofing material selected, and the complexity of the roof design. Capital City Roofing provides free, no-obligation estimates with transparent pricing and financing options including 0% interest plans.
How do I know if my roof needs to be replaced or just repaired?
Several factors determine whether a repair or replacement is the better investment. If your roof is over 20 years old, has widespread damage, or shows signs of structural issues like sagging or major water infiltration, replacement is typically recommended. For localized damage such as a few missing shingles or minor leaks, a professional repair is usually sufficient. Our certified inspectors provide honest, pressure-free assessments.
What roofing materials do we recommend for homes in Georgia?
For most Georgia homes, we recommend GAF Timberline HDZ or CertainTeed Landmark shingles - both offer excellent wind resistance, curb appeal, and manufacturer-backed warranties. For homeowners seeking premium aesthetics and longevity, CertainTeed Presidential Shake or standing seam metal roofing provide 50+ year lifespans with superior storm resistance.

Commercial Roofing questions.

What types of commercial roofing systems does Capital City Roofing install?
We install all major commercial roofing systems including TPO, EPDM, PVC, modified bitumen, built-up roofing (BUR), metal standing seam, R-panel, and insulated metal panels. Our commercial team evaluates your building's specific needs - roof traffic, chemical exposure, energy goals, and budget - to recommend the optimal system for your facility.
How often should a commercial roof be inspected?
We recommend bi-annual inspections in spring and fall, plus inspections after any significant storm event. Regular professional inspections can extend your commercial roof's service life by 10-15 years and reduce emergency repair costs by up to 70%. Our inspection program includes thermal imaging and drone surveys for comprehensive condition assessment.
Can you work on occupied commercial buildings without disrupting business?
Absolutely. We specialize in phased scheduling that maintains your business operations throughout the roofing project. We coordinate with your management team, schedule noisy work around business hours when needed, and phase large projects section-by-section to ensure business continuity. Our 99.9% uptime rating reflects our commitment to minimizing disruption.

Multi-Family Roofing questions.

How does Capital City Roofing minimize disruption to residents during multi-family projects?
We use phased scheduling to roof one building or section at a time, maintaining parking access, walkways, and property aesthetics throughout. Residents receive advance notification via door hangers and management communications. Our crews perform daily cleanup and maintain strict safety protocols. In most cases, residents can remain in their units during roofing work.
Can we present a roofing proposal to our HOA board?
Absolutely. We regularly present to HOA boards and provide professional proposals with multiple material options, phased scheduling plans, budget comparisons, and warranty details. We've presented to over 500 HOA boards and understand the decision-making process for community associations.
Do we offer multi-building discounts for apartment communities?
Yes. Multi-building and community-wide projects receive volume pricing that significantly reduces the per-unit cost. We also offer phased billing tied to project milestones, and can structure multi-year plans that spread costs across budget cycles.
